The most important thing about the wedding day aside from being with the love of your life is YOU! All eyes will be on you. People will be looking at every detail. You’ve probably had an idea on how you would look before he even popped the question. Your Pinterest board must be busting at the seams! It can be kind of overwhelming to see all these examples of bridal ensembles all over the internet. Break it down into steps so its easier to see the vision.
The dress is the most important part of a wedding look. It sets the tone for the entire day. There is a lot to think about with the dress. Do you want a sleek hip hugging gown, Cinderella ball gown or maybe something with an open back? Don’t be afraid to go with something bolder! Maybe you want a pop of color! Once you put on THE dress, you will know it. You will feel that feeling everyone talks about.
Every bride needs a little glitz and glamour! Adding a necklace, bracelet and earrings is a good way to get your “something borrowed” crossed off your list. Ask a family member or friend if they have something with bling in their jewelry drawer. Maybe your grandmother has something from her past she would be willing to let you wear? Its good to go with your color scheme. Are you accenting the reception with gold? Pair it with some gold jewelry! It’s also okay to go more minimalistic on the accessorizing. A nice white gold hoop with a simple bangle will do the trick. Its all about the style you are going for!
You are going to look magnificent from head to toe, but I bet what your groom is going to lock in on is your eyes. When I see brides up at the alter with their groom, they are always so connected by their eyes! We will do a trial run through of your wedding look to make sure everything is absolutely perfect and just the way you imagine it!
The perfect pair of shoes can make or break any outfit for a bride. Shoes are the item you can be a little more creative with. Try some gladiator sandals if you have a boho vibe going on. Or maybe you need some blinged out cowboy boots for your rustic barn wedding? If you need some permission to buy your favorite shoes, look no further. Consider this your permission! Girl just buy the shoes. Have fun with it!
You can’t wear your favorite grannie panties on the big day! Different styles call for different undergarments. If a dress really hugs your mid-section then you may need some shapewear. If you are going the princess root, then your bridal stylist will fit you with a ballgown slip that enhances all 360 degrees of your dress’s pouf. You may also try a corset or strapless bra. Whatever you choose, just don’t forget the garter!
The cherry on top! Every bridal boutique will have veils. It may not work with your desired look but its good to try before purchasing! Sometimes putting the veil with the dress really makes it real. You think to yourself “I’m really getting married in a few months!” It makes the whole entourage start tearing up! Are you going for a more retro look? A birdcage veil is for you! More traditional? Try a long cathedral veil. It will look extra amazing if you have a dress with a train. IF a veil is not for you, that is okay. Try adding some a bold hair clip, flowers or vine to your hair style.
I encourage you to print out pictures of inspiration you’ve seen. Make a dream board about your look. It really helps see it all at one time so you can determine if it’s a cohesive look. Ask me for any advice if you need to! You can go vintage, boho, retro, classic, or even somewhere in between. No matter what you choose, you will look absolutely stunning because it will be the happiest day of your life. And a smile is the best accessory you can wear!
